Cover Picture: Neurometric functions predictive of psychophysical performance via single-trial analysis of the EEG for a face-vs-car categorization task. Two major discriminating components contribute to the construction of these neurometric functions. The earliest correlating with psychophysical performance is consistent with the well-known face-selective N170. The second component, which is a better match to the psychometric function, occurs at least 130 ms later, and its temporal onset varies with the stimulus evidence. See Philiastides and Sajda, pp. 509–518.
